As CBD continues to make headlines across the globe and more people realize the tremendous benefits this non-psychoactive compound derived from hemp contains; CBD isolate also known as Pure CBD, is becoming increasingly more popular every day.

If you’re looking for one of the most potent forms of CBD, CBD isolate; or products made from CBD isolate, could become your new go-to. So, you may be asking yourself, what exactly is CBD isolate, and how can I use it to benefit me in my day to day life?

CBD isolate is a pure, crystalline powder extracted from hemp that contains 99% pure CBD. All of the plant matter from the hemp plant, including oils, waxes, chlorophyll, terpenes, etc. are removed, offering a finished product that leaves the one single cannabinoid, CBD and nothing more. You can find our’s here.

How is CBD Isolate Made?

In order to get CBD out of hemp, it must first be extracted. CBD isolate extraction starts out like any other extraction process used to make CBD. Once the initial extraction takes place, the concentrated CBD is still full of all the plant material contained in the hemp plant itself, (also known as Full Spectrum CBD but don’t worry we’ll touch on this a little further down.)

In order to get to the ultra-pure form of isolated CBD, a purifying process follows the actual extraction process. This purification process includes filtration where all plant material is filtered out of the extract. Following filtration, the extracted oil goes through what’s known as a “winterization process” that further removes any waxes or other plant materials that were still present after filtration.

Once all of this is done, what you’re left with is a fine, white powder that is 99% pure.

While most people assume CBD doesn’t contain THC, as mentioned briefly earlier, there are still trace amounts found in CBD oil that is made using the entire hemp plant. This is known as Full Spectrum CBD and can be sold legally as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC. While this minuscule amount of THC typically isn’t enough for people to feel any psychoactive effects, it can still show up in a person’s system when they are tested for THC.

CBD isolate offers the benefits of CBD without a trace of THC. This isolated version of CBD is excellent for anyone who is sensitive to THC or can’t have THC show up on a drug test due to their profession, or for sports related reasons. Many military service members, police officers, and emergency first responders, are more likely to use CBD isolate products for this reason.

How Do You Use It?

Okay, so you’ve picked up some isolate, but what exactly are you supposed to do with this tasteless, odorless, fine white powder? The answer is… well, basically anything you want!
Since CBD isolate doesn’t have any taste or odor, you can use it in a variety of ways. Some of the easiest ways to get your daily dose using an isolate powder include: placing it directly under your tongue, holding for 30 seconds, and swallowing; or creating your own custom products. Some of the more popular products made at home are items such as lotions and balms, mixing it with food or beverages, and if you’re feeling adventurous enough, making your own CBD infused honey or butter, although you can also smoke isolate powder. The options are limitless, and without the trace amounts of THC, you can use CBD isolate products daily.
