What is the difference between HEMP and MARIJUANA?

HEMP plants (Cannabis Ruderalis) are high in CBD and low in THC which means it has little to no psychoactive properties to it. It will not get you "HIGH" thus anything below 0.3% THC is legal in all 50 states.

MARIJUANA plants (Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa) on the other hand is high in THC and low in CBD. This leaves MARIJUANA with high psychoactive properties, allowing you to get "HIGH" and is not a legal plant in all 50 states.

Although some states have legalized the recreational/medical use of marijuana, you must acquire a medical marijuana card in order to

purchase any products with more than 0.3% of THC.

  • When purchasing CBD products there are two things to know. Pure CBD products or “isolate” products DO NOT contain any THC. Full Spectrum
  • CBD products contain less than 0.3% of THC, which can be purchased without the need of a medical marijuana card.

All of our products contain CBD cultivated from HEMP for the purpose of it not having psychoactive properties. Even our FULL SPECTRUM CBD products contain 0.3% or less of THC (sometimes THC doesn't even show up on our lab results because the amount is so minuscule.) None of our products will give you a HIGH feeling, but we do advise taking our FULL SPECTRUM products with caution, because when taken in large doses, may show up on a drug screen.

CBD 101 Basic Information

Two kinds of CBD

Pure CBD : Made from CBD Isolate, these products contain the one single cannabinoid all by itself, and  nothing more. These products have no smell or taste to them and contain no THC.

Full Spectrum CBD : Made from full plant material, these products contain more of the cannabinoids,  compounds, and terpenes found in the hemp plant. This causes these products to have a green earthy smell  and taste to them. Full Spectrum may contain trace amounts of THC, below the legal limits of 0.3%, and will  not produce any kind of mind altering high but may show up on a drug screen.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD works by activating naturally occurring receptors found within our endocannabinoid system. The more  cannabinoids, the more receptors that are activated allowing for a broader symptom relief.

The human body naturally produces certain cannabinoids on its own, but it also has two receptors for  cannabinoids, these receptors are called the CB1 and CB2 receptors. Full Spectrum CBD helps to activate  these receptors in a process known as “The Entourage Effect”.

CB1 receptors are found throughout the body, but mainly in the brain. These receptors deal with coordination  and movement, pain, emotions, and mood, thinking, appetite, and memories, as well as other functions. When  THC is present in CBD (Full Spectrum), it attaches to these receptors, helping to aid in greater and a broader  pain and symptom relief.

CB2 receptors are more commonly found in the immune system. They affect inflammation and pain. It was  thought that CBD attached to these CB2 receptors, but it now appears that CBD does not attach directly to  either receptor. Instead, it seems to direct the body to use more of its own cannabinoids.

Pure or Full Spectrum – Which to Use?

When trying to decipher which is better, that eventually boils down to the relief that is looking to be achieved. It  is thought that when using Pure CBD, one will find it works better for arthritic pain, inflammation, joint  discomfort, mood stabilizer, etc. Full Spectrum CBD has been found to work better for a broader pain relief.  Since Full Spectrum activates CB1 and CB2 receptors, people have found that because of this, it can help with  chronic pain, migraines, etc.

Dosage and Strength

The amount of CBD that each person is going to require to find relief, is different. However, most people tend  to find relief anywhere between 10 and 50 milligrams of CBD. We always suggest starting low and working  your way up. All of our tinctures come in 1oz (30ml) bottles. This number will never change. The strength of the  tincture, or the amount of CBD going into the tincture, is what is going to change to accommodate the strength  (500, 1000, 1500, 2500). A full dropper of 500mg is going to be equal to ½ a dropper of a 1000mg. The higher  you go in strength, the less you have to take of the actual liquid.
